Celebrity Jeopardy! brings out the best of entertainment to compete on America’s favorite game show.
On a recent episode, host Ken Jennings chatted with Sean Gunn, known for his role as Kirk on Gilmore Girls, who explained how he doesn’t want to go viral. However, Ken pointed out he currently is already making his rounds online. Sean said, “I don’t want to be doing crazy things on the internet … I am on the internet right now, Ken, for doing something ridiculous.”
An old Gilmore Girls clip resurfaced that caught the world’s attention as it circulated very quickly. Sean was referring to a moment in the show where his eccentric character admits that he has nothing to offer his love interest except for a strange dance. The scene kicked off a “dance craze” on TikTok.
Ken prodded further, hoping Sean would succumb to some pressure and show off the “sweet, sweet dance moves” right in the studio. Sadly, Sean declined, laughing that the network didn’t have the money to pay for that particular talent of his and that the audience would be left “swooning” if he did. He gave the camera bit of the shimmy for “just a taste.” Fans were “thrilled” Sean knew about the trend circulating the app.
However, some fans were quick to notice one key slip up that Sean made. While he was giving background on the dance craze, the star said, “I did this show Gilmore Girls a year ago.” Sean then corrected himself to say “years ago,” which could refer to the original series that ran from 2000-2007 or to the Netflix reboot from 2016.
“Did no one catch the slip up,” asked a fan. “‘…I did a year a go…years ago I mean’ ARE WE GETTING MORE GILMORE GIRLS AND MORE KIRK?!?!?!”
Accidentally saying “a year ago,” though, left a few fans wondering if he knew something they didn’t. After all, they’ve been begging for comeback for the show after Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life left off on a cliffhanger.
Other fans were ecstatic to see Sean in good spirits on the show, especially as it fit his character’s MO just so well. “Kirk just doing another job,” wrote one on TikTok. Another said, “Every time Sean Gunn is in something besides Gilmore Girls it just feels like Kirk doing a new job.”
“There is no Sean Gunn, just Kirk moonlighting as an actor because he needed ANOTHER job,” said a third while a fourth added, “Kirk is off on another side quest I see.”
