Red Sox Receive Crucial Good News About Their $90 Million Star Outfielder Ahead of the Reds Matchup, Giving Fans Hope for a Turnaround!.Duongnhung

The Boston Red Sox are one team in the MLB that’s had a whirlwind season in 2025.

After the trade that sent the team’s last player from the 2018 World Series team, Rafael Devers, to the San Francisco Giants, the Red Sox have fallen to fourth place in the AL East.

In their last 10 games, the Red Sox are 3-7 and went through a six-game losing streak before snapping it against the Toronto Blue Jays on June 28.

While they begin another month of baseball, Boston will look to flip the season around and attempt to stay alive in a tight-knit AL Wild Card race.

Boston has received some much-needed positive news regarding outfielder Masataka Yoshida and his rehabilitation from last October’s shoulder surgery.

Yoshida hasn’t appeared on the Red Sox this season, but it’s been announced that he will be implemented into their Triple-A Worcester lineup on Tuesday, according to reporter Tommy Cassell.

Yoshida will be serving as the Woosox’s designated hitter and will bat at the No. 2 spot while he continues to ramp up from the labrum repair he had in his shoulder.

Although Yoshida hasn’t quite made it to playing on defense in the outfield, taking competitive at-bats is great news for manager Alex Cora and a struggling Red Sox team.

The 31-year-old outfielder is currently in his third year of a five-year, $90 million contract he signed with the Red Sox as a foreign professional.

He’s expected to return sometime before the All-Star break that takes place from July 14th-18th

In the two seasons he’s played for the Red Sox, Yoshida has been a consistent left-handed bat in Boston. In 248 career games in the MLB, Yoshida has a .285 BA, ,343 OBP, .433 SLG, .775 OPS, and has hit 25 home runs and 128 RBI.
