American actress Emma Watson has been named “Feminist Celebrity of the Year” after campaigning for the gender equality campaign HeForShe.
In addition to all her contributions to the entertainment industry, the 24-year-old actress is also highly educated and actively participates in social activities.
Emma Watson has now become a Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations (UN) to fight for gender equality. Her meaningful work has been recognized, the Foundation For Women honored Emma Watson as the feminist celebrity of the year according to the results of a poll conducted in Cosmopolitan magazine.
This list also includes many famous people such as Laverne Cox, Rachel Maddow, Beyoncé, Cher, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Meryl Streep, Mindy Kaling, Ann Curry.
In September, Emma launched the HeForShe campaign in New York. The campaign’s goal is to get 100,000 men to join the fight for gender equality. The campaign has been supported by world-famous actors and South African priest Desmond Tutu, who won the Nobel Peace Prize.
