Bad Bunny took another swipe at Republicans and defended the island of Puerto Rico.

A crowd of 20,000 people attended former president Donald Trump’s event at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Sunday, Oct. 27. Before introducing the Republican front-runner, Tony Hinchcliffe made “jokes” about almost every race, ethnicity and orientation.

One part of his “joke” that went viral is him taking aim at the island of Puerto Rico and its people. He said: “There is literally a floating pile of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think its called Puerto Rico.” This comment made many angry, especially the Puerto Rican trap star, Bad Bunny.

Puerto Rico Archbishop ‘appalled’ by ‘floating garbage’ comment as he demands personal apology from Trump

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, posted an eight-minute emotional video from his 2021 two sold out shows which took place at the Hiram Bithorn Stadium in Puerto Rico on December 10 and 11. In Spanish, the video showed a black screen with a statement letting his followers know where the video came from and that this was the first time the video was ever made public since the concerts.

The Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va Pasar Mañana singer has been known to represent Puerto Rico and speak up to the island’s government. Since the “joke” made about Puerto Rico, Bad Bunny posted a video of Kamala Harris speaking on what Trump did when he visited the island after Hurricane Maria. A time where more than 2,900 people died and residents were left without power for well over a year. The island still has not fully recovered.

The video highlights the history of la isla del encanto. Bad Bunny incorporated videos of featuring trademarks that Puerto Rico is best known for like the coquí, its food, beautiful beaches, landmarks and more.

The video also highlighted “the greats” who came out of the island like the late baseball star Roberto Clemente, boxer Miguel Cotto, reggaeton stars like Daddy Yankee, Residente and Tego Calderon and others. Actor Benicio El Toro did the voiceover in the video and at the end he says in Spanish: “There is no greater pride in each achievement than saying I am from PFKNR,” referencing the name of Bad Bunny’s song.

Bad Bunny captioned the post: “garbage,” clapping back at Tony’s rally remarks. His fans and other Puerto Rican celebrities commented under the post expressing their support and gratitude.
