Wayne Rooney once won an invite to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ party by putting down a staggering £150,000 bid

The former England footballer took part in David Beckham’s World Cup charity auction back in 2006, with a whole host of other celebrities in attendance. During the evening, the disgraced rapper took to the stage with Beckham to auction off a weekend with himself partying in New York.

Speaking on stage, Diddy declared: “I am in a giving mood. I would like to auction something off, being that I don’t really spend a lot of time here or know the crowd, if you win you get your choice of one of the other. Choice A is a weekend at my house in the Hamptons, fully staffed, on the water in East Hampton, New York.

“Number 2 is a studio session with me in New York or London, I will produce a record for you and your kids. Or number 3 is a night out with Diddy on a Saturday night in New York, and I promise you your a** will wake up on Wednesday laying beside me.” The crowd all cheered and laughed as Graham Norton kicked off the auction.

It was eventually won by Manchester United icon Wayne Rooney as Diddy quipped: “Another thing, it is unlimited. You can stay for a long time. This is just the start, this is just the start.” Wayne asked if he could bring along a plus one for a total of £150,000, to which Diddy responded: “You can bring the whole football team.”

Diddy also assured Wayne he would be a “changed man” before he returned home. The rapper said: “After he comes to New York, we’ll probably be cousins. It’ll be a non-stop party with lots of sexy ladies.” Diddy later claimed Wayne’s wife Coleen, who was his girlfriend at the time, stopped him from going to New York.
