At the 2024 CMA Awards, Jelly Roll received a bit of a jab as Lainey Wilson, Peyton Manning, and Luke Bryan opened the show.

During their opening monologue, the trio gave a few shoutouts to the crowd, including Jelly. Particularly, they noted that he was “looking good,” with Lainey explaining: “He sure is – Him and [his wife] Bunny both … This is what I’ve heard: Jelly, he’s spent the year exercising and eating healthy and drinking less.”

Luke, in disbelief, cut into the conversation at that point. “That’s the saddest thing I’ve ever heard,” he said, adding: “I’m so sorry.” Of course, it was all in good fun as the crowd and Jelly chuckled along together.

Once that little snowball started rolling, it was on its way.
