Penn Badgley and Wife Domino Kirke Expecting Twins: ‘A Magical Plot Twist!’
Penn Badgley and Domino Kirke are preparing to welcome two new additions to their family!
On February 28, Kirke took to Instagram to announce that she and the You actor are expecting twins, expressing their surprise and excitement.
“Babies #3 and #4 coming this Summer! Talk about a PLOT TWIST! Spontaneous twins are beyond magical. We are stunned. We are in awe. Can’t think of anyone else I’d rather be on this ride with @pennbadgley 👶♥️👶🎢 #handsoffthewheel #monoditwins,” she wrote.
She referenced monochorionic diamniotic twins, which are identical twins that share a placenta but have separate amniotic sacs, according to the University of Michigan.
A Heartfelt Announcement
Kirke’s post began with a photo booth strip featuring Badgley and their 4-year-old son kissing her growing baby bump. She also shared a picture of a heart-shaped cake with the words “marry me over & over”, a sweet nod to their relationship. The couple has been married since February 2017.
In addition to their son, Kirke is also a mother to Cassius, from a previous relationship.
A Journey of Parenthood
Badgley and Kirke’s first child together was born during the COVID-19 pandemic, an experience the actor has described as a blessing.
“The great bounty that I got out of it is that our baby … has only been with us. He loves it,” Badgley shared on The Jess Cagle Show in October 2021.
“He’s very happy, very joyful, and we had the opportunity to be with him in a way that we wouldn’t have otherwise. So that is a strange blessing in it all. I am having such a joyful experience as a father … Even being a father in a pandemic has still been a joy somehow.”
Before their son’s birth, the couple endured two consecutive miscarriages, making this pregnancy even more meaningful.
While Badgley and Kirke have kept their son’s life relatively private, the actor gave a rare insight into his personality during a February 2023 interview with Access Hollywood.
“He’s talking a lot,” Badgley said. “He says ‘you’ instead of ‘me.’ Like, instead of saying ‘I’m hungry’ or ‘I’m finished,’ he’ll say, ‘Are you all finished?’ ”
With twins on the way, the Badgley-Kirke household is about to become even more lively!
